  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

PS Talk about "too big to fail"? The government can't run without the contracts they've got with BP to supply our fuel and other needs. You telling me those were negotiated by Obama, tenguy?

Is it BP, or is it the pathetic unresponsive cooperation that the federal government is guilty of ?

Why do you ask multiple questions when I respond to one false allegation?

Can't stay on the subject, can you? We were talking about oil, weren't we? And if you will take the time to read what I post, before you go running your idiotic mouth, you would see that I clearly includes W in the mix of the current BP situation.

You will NEVER find where I said that reasonable and enforcable regulations were not proper government activities.

What I repeated have said is that regulations that are passed in kneejerk reaction to events, are seldom without downside costs to the economy.

Now try to dispute that, if you can.

RP I'll just stick this here because it kind of relates.

I would not think they would be this careless on offshore rigs but on land rigs when they ran the final string of casing and started to cement they would get a jump on the rig move by unbolting and disconnecting the BOP's. After all the well should be cased and cemented. That's worst case scenario.

Next is their blow out preventers should have worked. One is an "annular" that should have closed around anything in the hole. I have heard their damaged their "annular" coming out of the hole on a previous "trip" and apparently never tested it.

If the annular failed they still should have had "pipe rams." But there is a possibility, they did not change their rams to fit the casing they had in the hole.

Finally last ditch the "shear rams" should have worked to cut what ever they had in the hole in two and shut off the well that way.

If the hydraulics failed they have liquid nitrogen back up systems already connected to the BOPs. Those should have provided enough pressure to close the BOPs

Just on that level alone. The most basic fundamental of the rig, the blow out preventers, there were that many failures. That is outrageous by every standard of the past 100 years.

I cannot express enough how careless, complacent, cheap and lazy the BP company men were on this rig and Transocean and Halliburton aided and abetted them.

Tenguy I don't have the time and the fucking patience to put up with some bullshit that you've always been a supporter of government regulations when according to you the government can't do any fucking thing. Now that's just a dumb waste of time.

So fuck that, I'll get straight to the point. This is another perfect example of just how careless and uncaring the private sector really is, and that appartently multi million dollar contracts like you supported for your Exxon Mobile chairmen probably ain't worth the money.

This is a perfect example of the oil field I've been working in for the past 10 fucking years. The oilfield I no longer recognized because we took chances that never should have been taken because it was cheaper.

Non fuck you and them tenguy. Those motherfuckers on that rig with those BP stickers on their hard hats knew their blow out preventers were faulty. They may have even unhooked them themselves to get a jump on the rig move. That is standard procedure out here in the Rocky Mountains and has been since Bush/Cheney got in office.

But those cocksukers knew their pressure tests failed after running their casing. They decided to chance it because they had to pump three more cement plugs. But the fucking well was flowing on them and they didn't even fucking know it. There's no excuse for that either and probably why the mud engineers got killed. Because they were trying to do their jobs while those BP fucker sitting around like a bunch of heroes telling each other how fucking safe they were.

Chickenshit, lazy careless, motherfuckers and guaranteed a lot more than 11 guys have died sense this blow out over the same fucking shit.

But you talk about dodging the real issue. Are you willing to put to government officials on every fucking drilling rig 24 hours a day 365 days a year?

That's the only thing that would have prevented this blow out. If they were sitting out there each and every day that well was being drilled.

We have already been through this Stumbler. Obama chose Admiral Thad Allen, because it is the Coast Guard's responsibility to be the lead federal response agency to the oil spills in the coastal waters and deepwater ports. And considering the BP oil spill is a deepwater port, then Obama named the Commander of the Coast Guard the coordinator for the oil spill.

EPA seeks to prevent, prepare for, and respond to oil spills that occur in and around inland waters of the United States. EPA is the lead federal response agency for oil spills occurring in inland waters, and the U.S. Coast Guard is the lead response agency for spills in coastal waters and deepwater ports.

You're more than welcome to take over BP - any one/company is - it's a publicly quoted company - feel free to take them over - i'm not sure you'd be happy paying the billions of dollars it would cost you to do so though !!!

So has Obama "kicked ass" yet - is it going to be a public kicking - all pants around the ankles and he'll walk out with his big ass kicking shoe on and deliver the blows - hell lets give him a gun and let him use your liberal gun laws to do it properly shall we ?

Good job that BP has some corporate ethics unlike Union Carbide - here's what their attitude would have been :-

    "
    17. Why shouldn’t Union Carbide be responsible for the Bhopal site clean up under the “polluter pays” principle?

Union Carbide Corporation did not own or operate the site. If the court responsible for directing clean-up efforts ultimately applies the "polluter pays" principle, it would seem that legal responsibility would fall to Union Carbide India Limited, which leased the land, operated the site and was a separate, publicly traded Indian company when the Bhopal tragedy occurred. In 1994, Union Carbide sold its interest in Union Carbide India Limited with the approval of the Indian Supreme Court. The company was renamed Eveready Industries India Limited and remains a viable company today."

Don't worry folks. Someday the oil will stop flowing. BP will go bankrupt. Tony Hayward will get his life back. Obama will kick someone's ass. More "oil tolerant" animals will populate the gulf of Mexico. We'll invent a car that runs on solar powered windmills and recycled rainbows. And maybe the U.S. will elect an actual leader to the Whitehouse.

If you don't have the time or the fucking patience to put up with my criticism of lax government oversight. Why do you respond as you do?

See Stumbleass, it isn't that we need government agents on every rig 24/7, we need government regulators to come down hard on repeat offenders.

But as the typical two-faced liberal, that you are, enforcement of existing regulations is not important. You would rather spent your time and our resources making fucking excuses for inept, corrupt or spineless bureaucrats.

If you want rules, fine, enforce them, even if it hurts the industry that is negligent, those guys on the rig who lost their lives and those who risk theirs, deserve at least a vigilant and responsive government.

Read this interesting AP report on the situation, Stumbler, you might actually learn something. Here are a few paragraphs that illustrate how fucked up your thinking is.

Americans Want BP to Pay All Losses, No Matter the Cost

    Gallup June 15, 2010

PRINCETON, NJ -- The majority of Americans (59%) say British Petroleum should pay for all financial losses resulting from the Gulf Coast oil spill, including wages of workers put out of work, even if those payments ultimately drive the company out of business. Seven out of 10 Americans (71%) say Obama has not been tough enough in his dealings with BP...

President Obama's very public efforts this week to show his concern about the oil spill and to be harsher with British Petroleum appear to be generally responsive to Americans' concerns evident in recent polling on the issue...

Trends in Obama's overall job approval rating in recent weeks suggest that he has yet to suffer politically concomitant with the period after the spill.

TG, there is no way you would have supported federal oversight over oilrigs two months ago. You would have called it Obama taking over the oil industry, and then you'd rattle off your lame list of banks, and cars, and health care - blah blah blah!

Either you're for federal oversight or you are not. You don't get to pick and choose: banks are okay to be free, but oilrigs aren't.

It's the old reliable line used when something goes wrong during this administration.

And yes, I could not believe it either when I saw Senator Chris Dodd blame Bush for the oil spill. I almost died laughing. I could not believe the audacity to blame it on the last administration.

This is true, but it's not as if they invented this tactic.
I remember when I was in middle school, and Ronald Reagan was President it seemed like every time something went wrong they blamed the previous administration, and G.W. tried to blame Clinton for 9/11.
Both parties engage in this kind of bullshit, and that's why they both make me ill.

Gee whiz Stumblers Junior, where do you come off saying that I would not support safety in workplace and public domain? You are quite myopic in your view of things, seemingly so concerned about keeping this administration in high esteem, that you ignore what we conservatives really want.

Regulations and oversight should not be reactive, they should be proactive. Something that this and previous administrations are wont to do. The Presidents leaning on BP is music to my ears, I just wish that he (his departments) would have done something stronger when all those violations were piling up.

True, but blaming Clinton on 9/11 did have some merit. You have to admit.

    Remember this?

The commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks issued a stinging condemnation yesterday of the U.S. government's failed hunt for Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda terrorist network, finding that both the Clinton and Bush administrations focused too heavily on diplomacy that did not work and were reluctant to consider aggressive military action.

    *not_secure_link*www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A18972-2004Mar23.html

But lets admit, if Clinton would have done his job, then Bush would not have been blamed as well.

    Right?
