  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    The ever changing story.
Now it seems , instead of the last voice contact being only 3 minutes before disappearance , it was in fact
longer before , as it passed over the Greek island of Kea.
    40 minutes before
    then
The last calls to the plane ,
before it left Greek airspace ,
    went unanswered.
The plane flew on into Egyptian airspace and then disappeared soon after.

So it seems the plane was flying , apparently normally still ,
after it/they failed to answer calls.
    Suspicious ?

    Also.
It is now stated that it finally disappeared off radar at 10,000 feet,
    not 15.
If it was out of control ,
that. (should) significantly narrow the search area.
But , no debris found yet.
The lifejacket found was not from the/an aircraft.
(not surprising . the Mediterranean must be awash with them . with all the years of refugee traffic.)

    The next important question.
finding the black boxes , flight recorders.
Looks to me they may be in some of the deepest med water , possibly down to about 4,000 meters , though if they're in the northern sector of search , maybe shallower.

You'd think in this day n age , with a mix of satellite imagery , data recording and GPS tracking , and radar , once they have time to analyse all , they should be able to get very accurate positioning.

Very likely a sub or two in the general area to , given where , and who knows what they can detect now days. The sound of splashdown ?

Strange , no one yet claimed responsibility. They not usually so tardy with claims.

Out of 86,000 "red card" passes , 85 have apparently been revoked in the recent past for ties to extremism ...

This airport touts to be one of the most secure in the world ... that really worked well for them this time around if indeed it turns to be true what the "quick to jump to conclusions" Americans are saying. Unless they know something that they aren't telling us ...

Then again it could also just be the bullshit media sensationalizing the story 15 minutes after news of the disappearence of the plane.

Go figure, I get a 250 dollar fine for dropping a candy wrapper on the ground and these guys litter an entire ocean with plane debris and nothing ...

It would seem that debris and passengers belongings have been spotted. I dont think there could be any doubt that the plane had crashed but the reasons are still unclear. No admission of guilt from any terror group and until the black box s recovered its still open

    or for control ,
    or was he alive ,
    locked out ,
    unconscious ,
    or hijacked ,
    burning ,
    suicidal ? ?

Also we now are told that,
in fact they did not chat only three minutes before ,
but actually did not respond to calls .
though were still flying straight n level. [normally]
    (apparently)
Last voice contact was way back over island of Kea about 40 minutes earlier.

[in this day n age and in that area , with the amount of traffic , why would a crew not respond to trafic control ? ? ]

Do they not have an emergency alarm signal ?
If not , WHY not ?

Two pilots And security men on board , we're told , and no response and no distress call ? ?

    We need the CPR
until then your guess as good as anyone's , which is why I have not speculated.

So smoke was detected in a toilet at 3.26 ,
then another smoke alarm went off , 1 minute later
then the system stopped working at 3.29

    Last contact 2.39
    that must be radar contact
also confusing reporting of that time
    Last voice contact 1.48
    (Egypt local time)

Area of search means the black boxes are probably in 8 to 10,000 feet of water , in underwater terrain similar to the Alps.
    Difficult
(I've worked seamounts in places where the bottom can drop to depths like 15,000 feet , and drop from a few hundred to 10,000 very quickly , steeply , even vertical drops up to 1,800 feet. Yes , we had the most powerful transducer we could buy , about the size of a tub)

Let's hope they have come to rest somewhere accessible.

If the plane was just on fire there'd be no reason to radically spiral down. It'd just continue on a descent to Cairo.

It's all speculation right now. There's an old army adage: hurry up and wait. 'Bout all we can do 7ntil investigators can piece together what happened.

France has been a target lately. Is it coincidence a flight leaving that country crashed?

Now saying second smoke alert was from the main avionics cabinet.

That could be a very serious place to have a smoke generating type problem , for sure.

Surely could also cause control problems to ,
though all of that stuff has built in redundancy.
    Doesn't it ?

Still leaves the major puzzle of no reply ,
    and no distress call/signal.

(you'd think by now they'd have an emergency distress signaller ,
that has to be permanently attached to the certified pilot/pilots ,
that gives a clear and instant distress call the moment it is detached or interfered with in any way , or the pilot is disturbed unnaturally.
Much like kill switches we can have on boats , though much more sofisticated. obviously)

28 days left of pings , to locate the black boxes.
In such a relatively well defined search area , that should be doable ,
    if they are working,
at least to hear them and narrow the search area if not actually pinpointed before they expire.

You'd figure one at least should be locatable/audible.

A hundred sq mile area of seabed is a pretty big haystack, even if the needle is sending radio signals

Five by twenty miles. Not that big given who is there at the present time.

Not quite as simple as all that. Finding a EPIRB that are, under 10,000 feet of sea water is very difficult. A floating EPIRB is quite easy to find via satellite, but signals from deep water devises are very hard to pinpoint.

In fact , an epirb tells you exactly where it is anyway , long n lat .

We had to have two of the biggest , deep sea , one each side , so if we got rolled one would be on the high side , able to float free.
same with our 20 man auto release n inflate life rafts. 1 for each side.
In fact , we were on Inmarsat tracking anyway , so they knew exactly where we were all the time .

Apparently there are military exercises in the area from eleven countries.

From the blurb, "Additionally, participating forces will work together to practice procedures of search-and-rescue in cases where vessels are in distress".

That being the case are they involved in the search?

The ships were right on the money since the start. One turned off its own locator, why? It'd found the "black box".

? Have the flight data recorders been recovered, the information contained read and a conclusion brought forth by the inspectors? Or did a pilot survive and was interviewed on what happened?
